Lilia Vu is always nervous, no matter what!

Charley Hull and Lilia Vu changed the course of the tournament on Saturday as they took away the lead from Ally Ewing. She was dominating the game until the two players caught up to her and then progressed further. As of now, Ewing stands at T5 and Vu is tied with Hull right at the top.

Talking about the game, the Chevron champion opened up about how it feels to enter the course as a strong contender. A reporter asked her if the “nerves are different” when you go in as a leader as compared to when you have plenty to catch up with.

Lilia Vu responded, saying, “I think you’re always nervous no matter what position you’re in, because if you’re leading, you kind of don’t have the win yet. You never really have it until the final round, 72nd hole and you’re done with your putt. So I’m not going to be thinking too much about it. I’m just going to play my game tomorrow.”

Lilia Vu carded a 5-under 67. She had seven birdies and two bogeys on her scorecard at the end of the third round. She acknowledges in the presser that the game was truly about her confidence. She went on to reveal that she has not had this confidence since the Chevron Championship.

After a good round, Lilia Vu spoke about her mantra for the event. That she is going to focus on the tee shots and take opportunities for any birdies possible. The pro golfer also revealed that if she pays too much attention to the speed of the wind, she finds the game slipping away from her. So she is going to avoid that.

Lilia Vu and Charley Hull at the centre of the battle

After hoisting the Chevron Championship trophy and winning her first major, Lilia Vu did hit a few bumps. Weeks after that, ahead of the Mizuho Americas Open, a back injury made her miss some tournaments as well as some cuts. That’s a thing of the past. Now the LPGA star appears in good shape and is ready to try for a second major win.

She is in contention with British player Charley Hull. Hull is vying for her first major win, and is in good form as well. Additionally, she is playing on her home soil and the crowd is also rallying behind her. Hull delivered three birdies in a row and carded a 3-under 68 in Moving Round. Last month, she came close to winning the US Women’s Open at the iconic Pebble Beach. Who do you think, Lilia Vu or Charley Hull, will win the final major of the year?
