Greg Norman‘s LIV Golf strikes again! Recent reports suggest that the South Korea-born, Si Woo Kim, is likely to join the Saudi Arabia-backed Invitational Series. It will be another blow for the PGA Tour if he chooses to leave them.
Phil Mickelson, Dustin Johnson, Bryson DeChambeau, Brooks Koepka… the list of top Tour golfers joining the LIV Series doesn’t seem to end soon. According to a LIV Golf supporting Twitter page, Si Woo Kim is in the negotiation process with the league.

The rumor started to spread a couple of weeks after Greg Norman announced his plans to add more players to his 54-hole event series. “Basically, we’re looking for maybe seven players,” the Australian golfer said after the Miami event.
The former world no. 1 wanted to recruit players from the Top 20 of the Official World Golf Rankings table. Mirror UK even reported that the players he is aiming to recruit are Americans Patrick Cantlay, Xander Schauffele, Australian veteran golfer Adam Scott, and Belgium’s Thomas Pieters.
Kim currently ranks at 74 on the OWGR standings. Although he doesn’t fit the description of Norman’s ideal candidate for the LIV Series, there is no doubt that the 27-year-old is a good player. After all, he has won thrice on the PGA Tour, including the prestigious PLAYERS Championship in 2017. He recently defeated the 2-time major champion Justin Thomas in the Presidents Cup singles event.
Kevin Na plans to welcome the new LIV Golf recruit to his team
The former PGA Tour player Kevin Na is one of the first to resign from the Tour to join the Saudi-backed Series. And if the rumors turn out to be right, Kim will join his Iron Heads GC.
Apart from captain Na, Sadom Kaewkanjana, Phachara Khongtwatmai, and Sihwan Kim were also part of the 4-member Iron Heads team in season 1 of the Invitational Series. If Si Woo Kim joins the team for next season, one of these three players will have to leave the Iron Heads.

In the last season, Na’s team couldn’t win the team event held in Miami. As a matter of fact, they were tied with the three other teams, including Mickelson’s HY Flyers GC, for the T9 position. The Iron Heads and other T9 teams earned $1 million per team.
Notably, the first prize of the Miami LIV Series event was $16 million, which DJ’s 4 Aces won.
