However, the 2023 season is going to bring some newly updated rules to the sport. And it is all for the players and to provide them ease in playing. One of the most talked-about updates is Rule 3.3b. As per Golf.com, Rule 3.3b (2) previously imposed “a penalty of disqualification when the hole scores on the scorecard haven’t been certified by the player, the marker, or both.”

In simpler words, a player could be disqualified from a tournament in case they forgot to sign their scorecard. And despite amazing performances and track records, a minor mistake could cost a player an important tournament.

It will still mean that the players will be punished for failing to sign their scorecards. However, the degree of the punishment would be a lot lesser than earlier.

Moreover, the main motto is to remind the players to follow golf rules. And that includes singing their scorecards. As per reports, the rule will be officially available starting January 1 for the PGA Tour, DP World Tour, and LPGA Tour.
