Just to Make His Daughter Happy, Super Dad Tiger Woods Once Went Through With a Disqualification at the 2015 Masters Par-3 Competition

With numerous records and titles to his name, Tiger Woods has one of the most illustrious careers in golf. Over the years, he has successfully positioned himself as one of the greatest golfers of all time. However, his greatness isn’t just restricted to the game. Along with being a great golfer, he is also the epitome of a great father.

Walking down memory lane, Woods married Swedish model, Elin Nordegren, in 2004. Three years into their marriage, in 2007, the two gave birth to their daughter, Sam Alexis Woods. Two years later, in 2009, they welcomed their son, Charlie Axel Woods.

Following certain grievous allegations, Tiger Woods and Nordegren announced their divorce in 2010. However, the strained relationship between the two hasn’t affected Tiger’s love for his children. An apt example of it was seen in 2015.

Tiger Woods disqualified from Masters Tournament

2014 and 2015 were not so pleasant years for Woods in terms of his golf career. However, it didn’t stop the former World No. 1 to move ahead with utmost positivity. In April 2015, Woods entered the Par-3 competition at the Masters Tournament, his first since 2004. While his participation made it to the headlines itself, Woods had a bigger surprise in the bag.

Accompanying Woods as his caddies were Sam and Charlie. Impressing his children with some over water chips and some other pleasing shots, Woods successfully made the ball settle just inches away from the hole. While the golfing world hoped to see Woods gracefully taking the putt, the 15-time Major champion had something else cooking.

Walking towards the ball, Woods gave his putter to his then 7-year-old daughter Sam, asking her to make the putt. The result? A clean putt knocking the ball in the hole. The father-daughter enjoyed the moment. However, little did the two know that their act was a build up to a major downfall.

Following the act, Tiger Woods was disqualified from the tournament. Woods lead the leaderboard with 3-under 24, prior to his disqualification.
