In the last three decades, K. J. Choi has won 32 times in his career; however, he has never won a major. But that might change in just a few hours. The 54-year-old has been playing at the Senior Open Championship at the Carnoustie Championship Course, and after three rounds, the 6-time PGA Tour winner has taken the lead with only a few holes to go (at the time of publishing).

This will be the South Korean pro’s first victory in the last three and his first major championship in his career, albeit at the senior Tour. What clubs has the 54-year-old used at the 2024 Senior Open to inch closer to his 33rd career win? The Korean pro uses a PING G430 LST Driver, which has a 3-degree loft. He pairs it with the LA golf shaft. Choi had signed a deal with PING to use their club in the 2017–2018 season. However, now his bag has a variety of clubs, and only from PING.

The LST driver generated ample speed to break the fairway, yet gave a lowered spin to the ball. It retails for $399 at the PGA Tour Superstore. For hitting from the fairways and being absolutely precise, Choi’s 3-wood choice was the Callaway Paradym Triple Diamond Fairway Woods, which has a 15-degree loft and the same shaft as the driver.
