Waiting outside the chiropractor, Kai Trump narrates her day while sipping on an energy drink in a brand new video posted on YouTube, “…Going to get my back worked on a little…And then I’m going to drive an hour and a half to have dinner with my dad and then drive an hour and a half back home,” she smiles and says. “Commitment, guys. That’s a commitment right there. Aren’t I just the best daughter ever? I know I am. He knows that, too.”

As per Donald Trump Jr., the one common thing between him and his daughter is that they both don’t sleep, and they both drink a lot of energy drinks. That part came true as Kai, in the next clip, looked tired as she drove her car. It was day two, she hadn’t slept well, and the anticipated dinner was already done. But she had not put those clips in her video.

“I didn’t really film a lot yesterday after I went to get dinner with my dad,” she explains. “Just because I don’t know, spend time alone with him. Obviously, you know, in life you can’t film everything. And yeah, I had a nice time with him.”

For Kai, these are the few moments she gets to keep for herself. As the granddaughter of the President of the United States of America, her life has constantly been under a spotlight. And the fact that her mother now dates Tiger Woods surely doesn’t help that either. So fans can’t really complain if the 18-year-old teen, shows a little bit of maturity and gate-keeps her relationship with her dad.

Yet, with a rather successful YouTube career, her videos have at times featured her dad. Just earlier this year, Kai posted a 32-minute video titled ‘Spending a Day with My Dad (Donald Trump Jr.).’ That was their first golf outing together in about six years! For context, Kai lives with her mother, Vanessa Trump, in Jupiter, Florida.

As the father-daughter duo drove around in the golf cart, hitting shots, Don Jr. couldn’t hide his pride that day: “I’m just very proud of you, very impressed with the young lady you’ve become… I don’t think there’s anything I’d actually change, which is shocking for me.”

Kai has been doing decently well for her age. She is currently ranked 461 in the AJGA rankings and is set to join the University of Miami Hurricanes women’s golf team for the Class of 2030. In fact, in her new video, Kai filmed herself as she finally submitted her application for Miami, a moment she said made her feel like a “grown-up.”

“I think it’s great — you’re basically learning how to run a business at an age where it’s sort of hard to figure that out,” Don Jr. continued in his remark. Kai is also set to make her first LPGA debut at ANNIKA in the coming days.

For Kai, such moments are cherishable. She’s the eldest of the five children. Following her are Donald Trump III, Tristan, Spencer, and then Chloe. All this bestows the duty of being the responsible one on her. This could be drawn from the fact that when Don Jr. introduced Kai at the 2024 Republican National Convention in Milwaukee, she delivered a speech supporting her grandpa’s presidential campaign.

That was her first time on a stage and her first time giving a speech, as noted by her dad. Kai has also often brought Donald Trump into her videos, giving fans a glimpse of the life the POTUS lives outside of his Oval Office.

But that doesn’t mean that there are no light-hearted moments in the family. As energetic as Kai is, that can hardly be true.

Don Jr. recalls Kai’s wild childhood moment

In the ‘Spending a Day with My Dad’ video, Don Jr, while golfing with Kai, shared an unforgettable tale from her childhood. The tale of a chair and a broken bedroom door.

Back when Kai was a toddler, she used to sleep in her parents’ room. That sleeping situation went on for a while, but after some time, the parents decided it was time to put Kai back in her own room. The moment they made that decision, Kai did not take it very well.

Don Jr. then narrates how she launched into “hours” of screaming and crying that went on deep into the night. Refusing to sleep in her own room, Kai stayed and slept in front of her parents’ door. Not ready to give in to her whims, the parents kept the doors locked against her. That’s where the story took a dramatic turn.

At approximately 2 am, Don Jr. decides to check the hallway through his security camera. What he witnessed was shocking. There was a flash of lightning, and his young daughter appeared on the screen, wielding a chair over her shoulder.

“You literally have a chair over your shoulder and just start smashing it into the door to try to get in. And so you destroyed our door. At that point, it was already ruined, so we just let it happen.”​​

When they woke up the next morning, Kai was asleep on the floor in front of their room with the destroyed chair beside her.
