Keita Nakajima WITB October 2025: DP World Tour Pro’s Golfing Essentials Explored

Keita Nakajima might not be a household name just yet, but he is slowly becoming one. At just 24, he’s already made a name for himself on the DP World Tour, but even before that, he held a record of being the No.1 amateur between 2020 and 2022 for over 80 weeks. He also became the first male golfer to win the Mark H. McCormack Medal twice. Nakajima made his debut on the DP World Tour last year, and it didn’t take long for him to make an impact. He picked up his first professional win at the 2024 Hero Indian Open at the DLF Golf & Country Club in New Delhi, India. KEITA NAKAJIMA’S LONG-GAME SETUP Normally, Nakajima uses the TaylorMade Stealth 2 Plus Driver (9°) and a TaylorMade SIM 2 Max 3-wood (15°), both with Graphite Design Tour AD CQ 6 X shafts. But this week, he’s swapped them out for more control off the tee. In their place, he’s carrying the TaylorMade Qi35 Max Rescue (20°). This hybrid is built for forgiveness and distance, ideal for the course this week, with a large head and a forward center of gravity. It launches high, spins low, and gives players like Nakajima a reliable option off the tee and fairway on tight holes. It also has an adjustable hosel, which lets him tweak loft and ball flight as needed. The club retails for $299.99 in the market. For his 6-9 irons, Keita Nakajima picked the P7MBs, similar to MCs, but these are pure muscle-back blades. Designed for elite ball strikers, they give golfers like Nakajima full control over shot shape and trajectory. They’re built for precision and feel, ideal for shorter yardages, mostly seen on this course. These retail for around $1,399.99 for the entire set. Keita Nakajima has paired all his Taylormade irons with the Project X LS 120 6.0 shafts for added stability. KEITA NAKAJIMA’S SHORT-GAME ESSENTIALS Unlike most pros who carry 2-3 wedges in their bags, Nakajima carries four wedges. This is probably because he hits extremely long off the tee (average 312 yards), and mostly faces shorter distances on the course to work with. His choice of wedges is the Taylormade Milled Grind wedges, with grind 3 for his 46°, 52°, 56° wedges and grind 4 for his 60° wedge. These wedges are known for their sharp grooves, precise grinds, and solid feel, ideal for shots below 140 yards. The MG4 TW Grind, his 60°, in particular, is great for delicate shots around the green, and even from the bunker, and offers versatility from different lies.
