LIV golf has gained popularity among enough golf fans, reaching incredible heights. According to the latest tweet by LIV CEO, Greg Norman, the Saudi-backed circuit was named the ‘Biggest Sports Business Story of 2022’ by ‘Sports Business Journal.’ The great ‘white shark’ of golf could not stop himself from posting the news, and it took the golf community by surprise.
The PGA rival received 27% of the votes from the Sports journal’s readers. It gave them at least 16 choices, and most of them chose LIV, making it the winner. Out of 27% of voters, 73% were male. Unsurprisingly, 69% of the males were between 25 and 54. However, most people who voted have had extensive careers in the sports industry. According to the reports, their work experience lies between 11 and 30 years.

LIV had a successful start this year and is now set for 2023. They will officially launch the circuit with 48 players and 12 established teams competing with each other in 14 tournaments. The total prize money for the entire season is $405 million. Last month, they announced the tournament venue, including Australia, Mexico, Spain, and Singapore.
However, despite all the success, let’s see if the golf community will celebrate with LIV.
Did fans approve of the LIV golf news?
The arch rivalry between LIV and PGA has left a bitter taste in the golf community. Some have accepted the new golf format and enjoy watching the teams compete for the prize money. However, many are still strictly against the Saudi-backed circuit as they are loyal to the American tour PGA.
After Norman shared the news with the results’ screenshot, they bombarded the criticism in the comment section. The golf community did not approve of this award. According to them, there was nothing to be proud of for getting the award. Because, according to them, the tainted blood money runs them. Therefore, it was an embarrassment rather than an achievement.

Golf fans took a dig at the LIV’s CEO and commented, “Biggest story doesn’t mean it’s the best thing to happen in golf or sports.” It just means getting much coverage, like a train wreck or plane crash. That was the gist of every comment received on the tweet of the major championship winner. The ‘blood money’ term surrounded most of the comments. Saudi Arabia’s fund backs LIV, which is one reason people disapprove of LIV so much. Saudi is infamous for not practicing human rights; therefore, their money is neither usable nor worthy.

Infairness when you look at what you were up against its hardly a win,is it .. small fish very small pond ..
So you think LIV was bigger than the world Cup 🙂
Take that same survey in Europe or Asia etc… LiV don't register

Unfortunately for all the wrong reasons. The story is about the blood money, not the golf.

Greg, you helped my buddy on TOUR a lot. He no longer has to drive for Uber and be financially stressed out constantly, which makes him play way worse. Hopefully he can join y'all next year.

It was a story alright. But it was about the Saudi terrorist's blood money used to hire golfers for show. 🤬😡 pic.twitter.com/piki5QQwdn
