Apart from being the bad boy of the golf world, John Daly is also one of the most legendary golfers. His golfing journey has been a little bit of everything, starting with his iconic 1991 PGA Championship victory, battling cancer, and then getting knee replacement surgery. Nothing has stopped the veteran golfer from being his best self yet.

Now it seems that just a few months after his knee surgery and facing issues with them, the 57-year-old has once again displayed a great deal of bravery! How, you may ask? Let’s find out!

Daly has always been famous among fans for his non-traditional lifestyle and his fearless attitude. A great example of his courage is his decision to compete at The Open after resurfacing a knee injury that is troubling him. But it appears that Daly’s valor just doesn’t end here.

One of the PGA Tour Champion’s events, Sanford International, is scheduled from September 11th to September 17th at Minnehaha Country Club in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. For two weeks, the tournament’s Instagram page has been welcoming the veteran golfers who will be competing in the tournament.

In a recent announcement, they announced that John Daly is one of the committed players for the tournament, and he will be seen competing in South Dakota.

Fans will undoubtedly love seeing the 57-year-old on the course at the event; after all, this year he’s played on the Tour and the Senior Tour only nine times in total and performed quite inconsistently because of his constant ailing knees. And Long John’s brave act of playing despite his pain, and making his injury look like just another pack of cigarettes for him, will unquestionably make him even more adored by the fans!

It seemed like Daly had been brushing off his knee-replacement surgery for the longest time. Finally, in December 2022, he went ahead and got it done. The golfer has been inactive in the golf world ever since, as he is in a hard recovery process. However, even after his successful aforementioned surgery, the golfer’s knee problems resurfaced, and he revealed that he may have to undergo another knee surgery.

Long John also withdrew from the Beauty vs. Beast Charity match, and the resurfacing injury was the reason behind the withdrawal. Even more recently, in one of his interviews after playing in the Kaulig Companies Championship, he shared that his knees swelled up after playing 10–11 holes on the course. Daly also revealed that his knee has been a prime reason for his inconsistency in the game.
