Exciting news for all the existing Korn Ferry Tour players! The PGA Tour and the K. F. Tour officials have jointly announced a policy that will benefit them a lot. The new policy will help the members who earn FedExCup points at the U.S. Open Championship to have those points count toward their total on the Korn Ferry Tour Points List.
“This policy change is something we’ve been exploring with our membership and our Player Advisory Council for a few years,” K. F. Tour President Alex Baldwin said about the new changes in the Tour that will benefit the players to a great extent. “And we look forward to cheering on our members as they compete in the U.S. Open this season and beyond,” he added.

How would the new changes benefit the Korn Ferry Tour players?
For a long time, the Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Kansas Wichita Open, a K. F. Tour event, and the U. S. Open were conducted in the same week. Hence, the golfers playing in the U. S. Open until last season lost their chance to earn points that others in the Kansas-Wichita Open will be able to earn. However, they can add the FedExCup points they earn from the major event to their Points List after the latest policy changes both the Tour officials implemented now.
“It’s going to be a huge change for Korn Ferry Tour players,” Taylor Montgomery, a PGA Tour rookie and 2022 graduate of the Korn Ferry Tour Class, said. “Just not having to decide whether they should play on the Korn Ferry Tour or in the U.S. Open,” he added.

“At a U.S. Open, you want the best players in the world,” he explained. “And a lot of the best players in the world are on the Korn Ferry Tour.” Montgomery further noted K. F. Tour players like Will Zalatoris and Sahith Theegala, who are in the top 50 on the OWGR standings, to prove his point. “There are only going to be more to come from that Tour,” he added.
The officials have a lot planned for the Tour for its upcoming season
The 2023 season is going to bring a lot of good changes for KF Tour players. Apart from the Monday announcement, the plans to add five more PGA TOUR cards as a reward for the top players on the Points List, an increase in the purse money and points rewarded for the winners, etc., are some of the best changes that the Tour officials have planned for its upcoming season.
