The Ladies European Tour is heading to the busy part of the season and right now the Tour is in Australia. The Women’s NSW Open will be the last event in Australia before the Tour heads to a different continent and country with the Joburg Ladies Open in South Africa.

The Ford-sponsored event is the fourth event of the Ladies European Tour, after the Lalla Meryem Cup, the PIF Saudi Ladies International, and the Australia Women’s Classic. It was supposed to be the third event in Australia but the Australian WPGA Championship was canceled due to Cyclone Alfred. The Women’s NSW Open has a lot at stake and as the final day unfolds, all eyes will be on who gets the coveted title on the Tour.

Women’s NSW Open’s Prize Money and Surprise Perk

The prize money for the winner of the Women’s NSW Open has stayed the same compared to last year at €300,000 (roughly $326,000). The first-place winner gets €45,000 (roughly $48,000) while the runner-up gets slightly more than half of the first-place purse at € 27,000 (roughly $29,000). The third-placed finisher gets €18,000 (roughly $19,500) while the player who finishes fourth gets €13,500 (roughly $14,600). All players who make the cutline get a chunk of the total pool. The winner of the event will also receive the coveted Jan Stephenson Trophy.

There is also another incentive in place. The event which is sponsored by Ford features a giveaway from the car manufacturer. One golfer who makes the cut and whose luck is slightly on the higher side could win a Ford F-150 Lariat. The caveat? Hit that once-in-a-lifetime shot on the par-three 177-m third hole at the Wollongong Golf Club. The strong winds are likely going to make it easier but the classic pickup truck would be a reward a few of the ladies would have their eyes on.

So far, no player has won it but with one more day left to play, there is a lot at stake at the Wollongong Golf Club.

Mimi Rhodes holds a slender 1-stroke lead at the end of day 3, thanks to her incredible 9 under par performance during the second round. Italian Alessandra Fanali is right behind her after enjoying a thrilling 7 under-par performance during day 3. Two Spanish golfers are also in the Top 5, Nuria Iturrioz (T3) and Blanca Fernandez (T5), who are three and four strokes off the leads.

Two Indians are also in the Top 10 and firmly in contention as the last day of the proceedings is going to take place. Olympian Diksha Dagar is at 9 under par at T8 and Pranavi Urs is in 10 place, one stroke behind Dagar.
