PGA Tour pro takes a smart jab at European Ryder Cup Team

Wyndham Clark had quite the season this year on the PGA Tour. He garnered eight top-ten finishes in total. Also, had a major win at the US Open with a score of 10-under 270. Hence, his overall performance was good enough to make it to the squad without relying on the captain’s discretion. 

A lot of players from Team Europe participated in the September 14-17 BMW PGA Championship at the Wentworth Club – West Course. Wyndham Clark gets his ideas from that event.

 In an interview, the one-time major winner said, “…I also think they might be maybe a little mentally fatigued as this week goes on. This is obviously a very intense environment and mentally challenging, and then also you put in a pretty physically demanding golf course being so hilly and up and down that maybe come Sunday they might be leaking oil and we’ll be fresh.”

 This is not the first time two-time PGA Tour winner Wyndham Clark has expressed a cutthroat opinion; he did the same once with Rory McIlroy.

Days before the coveted event, Wyndham Clark was excited with the idea of beating Rory McIlroy in the Ryder Cup. In an interview, he expressed his admiration for the five-time major winner but also revealed his wish to beat the Northern Irishman in singles.

He said, “I have tons of respect for Rory, and because of that respect, I also want to beat him. I like to think I am better than him, and I want to prove that”. He continued, “Long-ball hitters.
