Nelly Korda held on to her lead at the LPGA Drive-On Championship. But the eight-time LPGA Tour winner had to fend off threats from an unlikely source. It was Megan Khang, her BFF on and off the course, who surged 12 places on the moving day to snap at her heels, carding a spectacular 5-under 66 in the third round.

If that were not enough, Korda and Khang are paired together for the final round as well. On top of that, Khang revealed that the Bradenton native is, in fact, hosting her. Is this going to be a tense night at Korda’s Florida mansion?

Will there be any smack talk? Or will Korda let it be easy on Khang on Sunday? Emma Talley, an LPGA Tour Pro herself, asked Korda during the third-round press conference. It turns out the 25-year-old has a more sinister plan. “Maybe I’ll just leave her stuff outside the door today. [And, tell her] Find yourself a new place. Korda lets go with ear-to-ear laughter.

So, will there be smack talk? “I don’t know. We’ll see I guess,” Korda laughs before leaving. Khang, though, when asked the same question, admitted, “I jokingly was like, I don’t know if… she’ll talk to me tonight.”

It won’t be the first time the duo will face each other on the greens. But Korda thinks for a second when asked if they ever played a final round together. World No. 4 reveals, “Honestly, before this week we’ve only played like two or three competitive rounds together, and I think they’ve always been like a Saturday, never a Sunday.

Korda and Khang share a bond that goes beyond the greens. In fact, the 2021 Women’s PGA Championship winner planned a special treat for her buddy, when she clinched her first title.
