One upside of being Charlie Woods is that you have a 15x Major winner as your father—a golf legend who occasionally caddies for you. It must be nice to have an experienced guy as your bagman. However, that’s also the downside of being Tiger Woods‘ son—you are always put under the scanner.
How would life have been if Charlie Woods was just another 14-year-old young prodigy? We don’t know if the teenager ever wonders that, but golf fans would prefer if Tiger Woods fanpages and trackers stopped following the teenager’s scent every time he stepped outside his house.

What caused the firestorm on the internet?
Junior Woods’ outing at the Notah Begay III Junior Golf Championship was always on the radar for Tiger Woods fans. Although they might hate to admit it, the heightened anticipation was because senior Woods earlier caddied for his son in the regional qualifier.
Similarly, he did so in the National tournament as well. So far, so good. But the media attention spilled over to his young cub quickly. Since then, multiple clips from the tour have emerged, and Charlie Woods’ game has been compared with another youngster.
Popular ‘X’ (formerly Twitter) handle Flushin It retweeted a clip of Charlie Woods hitting a bogey-free final round. As per Flushin It, teenage Woods finished in the 17th position on the leaderboard. “Charlie Woods came T17 in his age group at this event, 13 shots behind Lucky Cruz who won Augusta National’s Drive, Chip and Putt in 2022.” However, the next line infuriated the netizens. Further, the account, which is run by a former pro golfer, wrote, “Lucky is a very impressive young player!”

But fans were to pick up on the comparison. They felt this could’ve been done away with, as Charlie Woods is still a young golfer who has a lot of miles to walk before becoming a subject of intense scrutiny and comparison.

How fans reacted to this Charlie Woods comparison
A majority of the fans felt Woods Jr. could do with a little less media attention. How must it feel for the teenager to have all the spotlight on him at such a young age?
Again, I wish we could just leave him alone, I just believe it’s unfair for the world to put so much pressure on him. I’m of course rooting for him but it must be hard to have to live with so many eyes on him.

Another user, echoing similar sentiments, wrote that there was no need to report this. Undue media attention will be detrimental to his growth.
Absolutely no need to report this let the kid be a kid and develop without a bunch of adults creeping his every move

Some people questioned the need to taint Charlie Woods’ performance. They felt the comparison was uncalled for.
That's cool. Just a kid golfing and playing the game he loves. Idk why people feel the need to dunk on it.

Prolific young golfers like Lucky Cruz don’t get enough attention, as Woods Jr. garners most of the limelight every time he plays. Not our words, though.
He’s a very good junior… but there are hundreds of juniors that are as good or much better.
The hype is crazy.

What’s incredible is how good these teenagers are.
