Having an impressive portfolio comprising of numerous titles and records, the 46-year-old has managed to create an aura that remains untouched by the majority of the golfers. However, the majestic career of the World Golf Hall of Famer wasn’t handed to him on a silver platter.

Scrolling through the history pages, Woods has undergone numerous surgeries in his close to three-decade-long career. Walking down memory lane, in 2015, Woods opened up about dealing with surgeries.

Tiger Woods hopes for a full stop on surgeries

Surgeries have a lasting impact on an individual. The medical procedures not only affect the person physically, but also mentally. Tiger Woods is no different. Ever since the beginning of his career, Woods has had to deal with struggles pertaining to his back and knees. Struggles, that forced the 11-time PGA Tour player of the year to undergo numerous surgeries to get back in action.

The year 2015 was one one of the most unpleasant years for Tiger Woods in terms of his career. A series of back problems forced him to pull back from being in his optimum form. Celebrating his 40th birthday, he indulged in a conversation with Times Magazine. During the conversation, he opened up about his tiredness of dealing with surgeries.

“Let’s just not go down that road ever again. No more surgeries. Seven’s enough. Four knees, three backs, that’s enough,” he said.

Woods hoped he wouldn’t have to undergo anymore surgeries after 2015. However, his future has something else planned out for him. Moving ahead, one of the greatest golfers of all time underwent 3 more surgeries (one knee and two back surgeries), taking the total count to ten. However, despite all of that, he made sure to always come back stronger and firmer.

2022 Open Championship being the last tournament he was seen at, Woods is yet to announce when he’ll be back. The golfing world also hopes to see Woods giving a glimpse of his magic with the clubs on the golf course.
