Brooks Koepka has been proving himself as a top player of the game for a while now. After turning professional in 2012, the golfer has managed to exhibit nothing short of exceptional skills on the course to win competitions. However, as fate would have it, the player has faced his fair share of setbacks on and off the course as well.

But even so, the LIV golfer has made many heads turn with the performance he puts up on the field. And, this time, it is two of the top coaches of the game who are all praise for the athlete, going so far as to dub him as the most “competitive” in the sport!

The 9X PGA Tour winner has had a praiseworthy season this year following a major win along with two victories in the LIV Golf Series. However, such a feat would not have been possible without the proper guidance from the coaches that he worked with over the years. And, in a surprise of sorts, two of his instructors, Pete Cowen and Claude Harmon III, known as two of the most famous coaches in the game, “lavished” the Former No. 1 with praise in an interview.

Although the LIV player “can come across as nonchalant,” Harmon mentioned how he has “never met anybody quite as competitive.” Continuing on his compliments, the coach attributed Koepka’s success in the Majors as a cause of his liking the very idea of being under pressure. Moreover, he disclosed how the athlete “expects there to be chaos” as opposed to others during competitions, especially the majors, leading him to the conviction of winning “multiple Majors and being No.1 in the world.”

Adding to the series of applause was Cowen. The ex-English golfer is of the belief that the 33-year-old is the best in his generation, “with only injuries stopping him” from excelling in majors. Expressing his disbelief, the Englishman exclaimed, “I don’t know how he doesn’t win every tournament” while adding how not many are better than him in the game.

Moreover, the coach was very supportive of the American’s aim as he said, “He (Koepka) said he wanted to win double-digit Majors and it’s achievable for him; he’s halfway there” all the while pointing how how no one else is close to the golfer.

However, the last few years saw the five-time major champ stuck in a rut with a series of injuries resulting in breaks from the game. Nevertheless, a steady recovery plan along with proper hard work helped him reach his present condition.

The 2023 PGA Championship winner suffered from a torn patella tendon in August 2019 followed by a major hip injury in 2020. The pain package became complete when he experienced a horrific injury to his knee cap and patella tendon (again!) in 2021.

However, the athlete was lucky in the sense that he managed to consult the correct doctor amidst all the confusion. Neal ElAttrache, the orthopedic surgeon and the Los Angeles Dodgers physician successfully performed surgery on the golfer leading him to the correct path of recovery.
