Dustin Johnson’s subtle hint shocks the golf world

This season of LIV Golf has been full of surprises. Talor Gooch has shined brightly as the star of the season after winning the individual season title. If all goes well, his team, RangeGoats GC, will win the forthcoming LIV Golf Miami team championship as well.

The LIV Golf Miami championship will start on October 20 and go on until October 22. Ahead of the event, Dustin Johnson was recently seen admiring Gooch’s game.

For the unversed, Johnson and Gooch were teammates in LIV Golf 2022. They were both playing for 4Aces GC captained by Johnson. However, after their win last year in the team championship, Gooch wished for newer pastures as he joined the RangeGoats GC this year.

Dustin Johnson was recently asked about his reaction to Talor Gooch’s recent win considering how they were ex-teammates. Johnson said, “Obviously Talor is a really good player and he’s had a great year…deserved to win and he played better than all of us. Excited for him, yeah. Obviously I’d have liked to challenge him a little bit more, but I didn’t have the greatest year but I still did okay.”

It looked like Johnson is rather regretful to have chosen to replace Talor Gooch, who turned out to be the star of this season. Even though Johnson has not clearly stated this, it can be implied from his statement, where he was seen admiring Gooch’s game and comparing it to his own.

As the clock ticks on the initiation of the much-awaited LIV Golf Miami, we need to get our basics about the championship cleared. The LIV Golf Miami is the final team championship on the LIV Golf 2023 schedule. It is set to take place at the Trump National Doral in Miami.
