As for the HyFlyers, with Phil Mickelson being distracted by the surrounding allegations, the team has been struggling a bit. Although not very far from their previous season’s standings, there has been a decline. Under these circumstances, many are wondering if Mickelson has changed his equipment since he likes to experiment.

What’s in Phil Mickelson’s Bag?
Around the time when the US Open Championship happened, Mickelson was dabbling with a new driver and new wood. While he had a long-standing contract with Callaway, he has usually had the freedom to experiment with a couple of sticks now and then. There a lot of confusion ensued around that time, including if Mickelson will play in the US Open. (Spoiler Alert: He did, and he didn’t make the cut).
Lefty was seen experimenting with a couple of Ping clubs earlier in June. He was practicing with a 9-degree Ping G430 LST driver and a 15-degree Ping G430 Max Fairway Wood. The driver is popular for being high-speed and low-spin friendly.
As far as the driver and wood are concerned, they have changed within the Callaway brand itself. Mickelson was reportedly handling the Rogue versions of the clubs from Callaway. However, reports also suggest that he was using the Paradym driver instead. There is also ambiguity regarding whether he is using a 3-wood or a 4-wood.

Phil Mickelson’s 4 and 5 irons are also under question. He is using at least one Callaway X Forged iron, but it’s not clear whether it’s a 2-iron or a 4-iron. There are reports he is using X-21 irons primarily.

Now, let’s move on and look at the clubs that he has likely kept with no changes in the past few months.
Nothing is constant, but some things come close!
Phil Mickelson has been carrying a hybrid club from Callaway. It’s the Apex UW version of the club. He also keeps the 6-iron, which is a Callaway Apex MB. Lefty uses the Callaway Phil Mickelson Limited Edition wedges. They are proto 50-14, 55-12, and 60-10 respectively. He also uses the Callaway balls of the Chrome Soft X model.

However, for the putter, he opts out of the Callaway collection. Lefty uses an Odyssey Phil Mickelson Blade putter. Well, if they launch a title collection, the quality of the clubs is probably worth associating with.
Individually, Phil Mickelson has dropped to the 38th position among LIV golfers from the previous season’s closing position of 34. His team has dropped one position from the previous season and is currently 8th position out of the 12 teams. The Jeddah event is the team’s last hope to turn things around a little.
