Jon Rahm’s quest to grab a win on LIV Golf might finally end! With the first round of the LIV Golf UK concluding on Thursday, the Legion XIII Captain carded eight birdies and went completely bogey-free to score an 8-under, two strokes ahead of Andy Ogletree and Fireballs GC member Abraham Ancer.

His teammate, Tyrrell Hatton, is tied for the fourth position with Cameron Smith. However, the other two members, Kieran Vincent and Caleb Surratt, are way down on the leaderboard (T29 and T51). To get the whole team ready for a massive victory, the latter two must gear up in the second round!

The Friday round will follow the same unique pairing pattern

LIV Golf Communications recently took to their official X (formerly Twitter) account and shared the pairings for the Friday round of the championship at the JCB Golf and Country Club. The round will have the league’s shotgun start at 2:15 p.m. (ET). Opening the field is the Legion XIII captain, Jon Rahm, with Abraham Ancer and Andy Ogletree.

Following them will be Rahm’s teammate Tyrrell Hatton, paired with Louis Oosthuizen, and Cameron Smith, following the same innovative grouping format. The last pair teeing off at the JCB Golf and Country Club will be Pat Perez paired with yet another member of the leading team, Caleb Surratt, and they also have Branden Grace putting alongside them.

The 155-yard, par-3 hole 14 was a rather easy hole for the players at the golf club near Uttoxeter. From Smash GC captain Brooks Koepka to Ripper GC captain Joaquin Niemann, almost every player carded a birdie in the hole. The second round, which is to begin in an hour, will be all the more action-packed.
