The 2020 US Open Winner played the 2022 Masters at Augusta National while battling various injuries. The Mad Scientist suffered from a torn left hip labrum and a hairline fracture in his left hand. According to Bryson, the damage to his hip happened during his quest to increase his distance two years back. At the same time, his hairline fracture occurred last fall when he slipped on the concrete and heard a “pop” sound.

Furthermore, the injuries aggravated during the Saudi International, while playing a ping-pong match with the Spanish professional Sergio Garcia and Joaquin Niemann.

On top of that, Bryson revealed during the Masters that he was advised not to play for four months. However, he decided otherwise and competed in the first major championship event of the calendar year.

DeChambeau made a return from his injuries at the WGC Dell-Match Play and the Valero Texas Open just before the Masters. However, he did not perform well at both the events, including the event at Augusta National Golf Club.

He underwent the surgery for an injury to his left hand and his agent Brett Falkoff confirmed the same. After his surgery, the professional said, “For now, I will be taking the appropriate time needed to rest and recover from this procedure and look forward to competing at the highest level within the next two months.”

This means, that maybe he might miss the PGA Championship at Southern Hills and the US Open, which he won in 2020.

The 2021 Team USA Ryder Cup member recently shared a series of photos during his recovery period. Bryson tweeted the images of his hands containing the scars from his procedure earlier in the month. The series of images included a small message saying, “Healing up! Gripped a club today. Can’t hold on to it for long, but getting there!”
