After graduating from Louisiana State University, Burns turned professional in 2017 and made an immediate impact on the golf circuit. 2021 was a breakthrough year for the golfer, as he won both the Valspar Championship and the Sanderson Farms Championship. Burns holds the 15th rank in the Official World Golf Rankings (OWGR).

As luck would have it, his selfie also featured Cameron Young, who was a budding golfer at that time. Who would have thought that two of the golfers from that selfie, Burns and Young, would go head-to-head in a WGC event final nine years later? But that’s exactly what happened on Sunday when the pair clashed against each other for top honors at the WGC-Dell Technologies Match Play, where Burns triumphed with a score of 6&5.

Amongst the women’s golfers, Kristen Gillman made a name for herself in the amateur circuit. She won the prestigious U.S. Women’s Amateur twice, in 2014 and 2018.
