There have been a lot of slants and shifts in the PGA and LPGA Tours ever since LIV Golf came into the picture. And the LPGA Tour recently made a huge announcement about bringing in someone from the PGA Tour as one of its official members. The association has appointed Jody Brothers as its new chief business and operations officer for the Epson Tour.

Jody Brothers appointed to lead the Epson Tour

The LPGA has come up with a special announcement. Before taking up the responsibility, Brothers was working with the PGA Tour since 2007. And now, he is replacing Mike Nichols, who took off last summer from the Epson Tour.

LPGA Commissioner Mollie Marcoux Samaan stated“We are thrilled to welcome Jody Brothers to the LPGA Executive Leadership Team as our Epson Tour Chief Business and Operations Officer. Jody’s extensive experience at every level of the golf industry coupled with his true passion for the professional developmental tours make him the ideal leader for continued growth of the Epson Tour,” she added.

Jody Brothers will now be responsible for keeping an eye on all aspects of the Tour, both on and off the field. The LPGA has high hopes from Brothers for his leadership. The association expects a rise in Seiko Epson Corporation’s value and for it to reach its maximum potential.

The Epson Tour recently released its tournament schedule for 2023. The Tour will include 22 tournaments and a prize fund summing up to $4.9 million. And Brothers is now going to play an essential role in the leadership of the tour.

What was Brothers’ reaction toward his new role assigned by LPGA?

Brothers previously served as the Vice President of business development on the PGA Tour. His role included leading the team to identify, pitch, and negotiate sponsorships for the Tour and official marketing partnerships. He was also responsible for handling player sponsorships and brand endorsements along with hospitality and on-site branding roles.

Talking about his new professional opportunity, Brothers expressed his gratitude towards the LPGA Tour. “After 16 years with the PGA Tour, I am very excited to join the LPGA team and spend the next part of my career working on the women’s side of the game,” he said. Brothers also expressed his happiness to contribute to the growth of golf, especially the promotion of women in the sport.
