For the event, the prize purse is $3m which is a good amount considering the top players who will be participating. The first name is World No.2 Ruoning Yin, who this year has earned much applause just at the age of 20. This year the Chinese golfer kickstarted her LPGA journey with two wins on the Tour one of which was a major. Another big name on the field is the famous Nelly Korda.

She did well at the recent BMW Championship and was seen in her old form. She finished in the third rank and is searching for another win. Korda last played in the event in 2017 where she finished T5. Other than Korda, Lydia Ko will also be gracing Malaysia this week with her presence. Her track this year has been not that impressive and Ko is working on redeeming it.
