Minjee Lee won the 2022 US Open in the first week of June. And it is already time for the LPGA Tour to get its 14th winner of the season! The Shoprite LPGA Classic began on June 10, Friday, and before we get the champion this week, let us check out what the players are competing for. What the total purse is, and how much would each place win?
The purse money of the 54-hole event is $1,750,000. The champion would bag the $262,500 out of the purse money, which is, according to the LPGA Tour’s prize money distribution chart, the standard 15 percent payout.

A cut will be made after Round 2 of the tournament, and only the Top 70 will advance to the final round. However, they can win the prize money only if they finish the event.
While the prize money is the highlight of the championship, there are other benefits only the champion would receive. The winner will receive 500 Race to CME Globe points. The points will help them to secure a place among the 60 players who get to play in the CME Group Tour Championship.
Furthermore, the winner will also get a two-year exemption on the LPGA Tour. Winning at the event will also ensure their berths to other big championships.
Venue, field, and more about the championship
Unlike the majority of the LPGA Tour events, the LPGA Classic is a 54-hole event. The Seaview Resort’s Bay Course in Galloway, New Jersey, hosts the event from June 10 to June 12. Additionally, the venue also hosts a 2-day Pro-Am event from Wednesday of the LPGA Classic week.

As the competition is high, the Tour fans will surely get to watch a nail-biting tournament this week.
Additionally, one can watch the event from Friday to Sunday on Golf Channel. CBS also broadcasts the final round of the tournament from 1 to 3 pm. Paramount+, NBCSports.com, and the NBC Sports app will also stream the 34th edition of the championship online.
