After her fifth consecutive triumph at the Chevron Championship, the world’s number one woman golfer, Nelly Korda, has revealed the secret behind her fabulous success journey. The 25-year-old had a conversation with No Laying Up Golf Podcast after her recent victory and opened up about what’s changed for her.

Korda’s on-course attitude displays that there is nothing that can shift her focus at all. Moreover, golf is not just a game for this LPGA Tour champion; she is in love with the sport. She likes to compete and tries to play better every time she goes on the greens. The fast player admitted that she did not pay attention to the outside voices at all, and that’s what took her to another level.

While discussing her talents and the success that followed, Lauren Coughlin pointed out a serious change in Korda’s play. As she has always been so talented, there is something different lately that has made Korda so powerful in her game. In response, Korda said, “It’s probably so annoying to hear. But I’ve really, really made sure that, like, I just don’t even listen to the outside voices.”

The 13-time LPGA Tour winner elaborated on her success mantra, adding that she has a great and optimistic team. Talking about her team, the 2x major champion said, “I have such a great, great, great team around me. And they’re so positive.” Rather than focusing on the outside voices, she keeps her concentration on the positive aspects, such as positivity. According to the golfer, “more about the self-belief.”

Her 2024 season has been a tremendous one so far! The LPGA pro went winless on the Tour for 14 months but came back so much stronger for the ongoing season. In the season opener, she finished at T16 and then ended her drought at the LPGA Drive On Championship. She went on a break after that and missed the Asian Swing. Upon the Tour’s return to the US, Korda has been unstoppable. Her trade success is surely working out well for her!

Korda prefers to stick to her process and consciously avoids outside disturbances. Surely, the LPGA Tour player has chosen the right path that has taken her over cloud nine, collecting back-to-back trophies. But, as they say, success comes with great responsibility! For the 25-year-old golfer, it sure has.

Is Nelly Korda going to be the new face of women’s golf?

After her heroic performance since the beginning of this season, all eyes have been stuck on the golf sensation. The expectations and duty toward promoting the game and inspiring the next generation were placed in front of the golfer, but in return, she chose to be just herself.  “And I’m going to promote the game the best way that I know. And that’s being myself, and that’s, you know, engaging with the fans and playing golf,” said Korda.

Stacy Lewis also talked about Nelly Korda taking on more responsibility to bring female golf to the front page as she said, “I think Nelly does have a responsibility, and she probably doesn’t always want it, just knowing her… We have to push out partners to say, how can we make this happen. It’s getting creative. Maybe changing tee timing, playing earlier, later, whatever it is. We got to figure out a way to be more visible.”
