The PNC Championship is slowly creeping into the golfing world. However, not everyone can enjoy this unique moment with their family. Nevertheless, if a person is determined to make an effect, one can always do so in a different way, if not directly. And that is exactly what the son of a LIV Golf pro did.

However, he wasn’t alone in this endeavor. The young athlete decided to team up with the son of a legend on the LPGA Tour in a bid to contribute to the upcoming tournament—none other than Annika Sorenstam!

Annika Sorenstam and a LIV Golf Pro’s kids: a unique pair-up

The PNC Championship is all set to kick off on the 14th of December at the Ritz-Carlton Golf Club. And, making her appearance again on the greens is Sorenstam with her son, Will McGee. However, ahead of the tournament, the 12-year-old was seen practicing with the son of popular LIV golfer Ian Poulter.

A post was uploaded on his Instagram handle with Joshua James Poulter. The two had been close friends ever since they were little. And, in the video shared by the LPGA Tour legend’s son, the young Poulter is spotted scoring a “hole in 1” as his companion hyped him up during a “nice little night time” golf.

While young McGee would tee it up at the upcoming event with his mother, the same can’t be said for his friend. However, the LIV golfer and his son would have been a good fit for the same owing to the amount of chemistry that they have shown on the greens. Unfortunately, the professional has neither won a major nor a Players Championship and is unable to compete in either. Moreover, since no player in the Saudi-backed league has ever played at the same level, his chances are still low owing to his LIV Golf defection.

Nevertheless, this small hiccup has not deterred the duo from affecting their friendship. Instead, they used this opportunity to further strengthen their bond while practicing a round of golf with each other. And this is not the first time that they have spent time together.

Born on March 21, 2011, the young son of the LPGA veteran celebrated his birthday this year with some of his friends. And among them was the Englishman’s kid, who spent the day with his friend. Meanwhile, Sorenstam’s husband shared the same on X, as he wrote, “We are celebrating Will’s birthday at @Topgolf today.”

Adding on, he said, “Three of these boys who have dads who have won on the @PGATOUR,” all the while referring to their son’s friends who came for the birthday party. Well, it surely must have been fun for the aspiring athlete, just like his father said, “Fun stuff!”
