The Evian Championship is on its third day of the event and is already getting exciting to watch. Golfers are giving each other a tough time on the greens. The legendary Annika Sorenstam has stepped away from the sport but that doesn’t stop her from getting involved in what she loves most.
Through her foundation, she has been seen giving updates on one of the rounds in France, encouraging as many as five golfers in the process. Let’s dive deeper into it.

The Evian Championship is getting more and more interesting with each passing round. The first-day leaderboard was noteworthy and to share the same, Sorenstam came forward. As everyone is already aware, the 52-year-old golfer is someone who always encourages and supports golf and golfers through her charitable foundation.

Annika Foundation took to its Instagram story and shared a picture of Celine Boutier with the caption, “#ANNIKAALUM Day 1 Update from @EvianChamp.” In the story, we can see the names of five female golfers, starting with Celine Boutier and Alison Lee, who were tied for second place after the first round. They are in fierce competition with one another to go up the scoreboard.

Following that are Yuka Saso, Angel Yin, and Esther Henseleit, all tied for sixth place in the competition. Sorenstam, who recently played the US Women’s Open where she missed the cut, appeared to be behind these golfers. It’s no ordinary thing, having the support of a living legend!
Sorenstam’s encouragement seems to be working
Today is the third day of the tournament. The positions have changed now and with her exceptional performance, Boutier, after the second round, is leading the remaining field at 7-under par. Patty Tavatanakit and Yuka Saso are in second place, one stroke behind her. Before the fourth and final round concludes, anything can happen.
