One of the most talented women golfers of this generation! Yes, we are talking about Nelly Korda. After turning pro in 2016, she has managed to garner a total of eight wins on the LPGA Tour. However, she was not able to do it alone. How else, you ask? Well, the answer is obvious as per the American star: she got a lot of help from her caddie, Jason McDede.

The looper has played an integral role in her golfing career so far. Even the LPGA Cover Girl was quick to agree as she took to the greens with YouTuber and athlete Grant Horvat in a video, all the while admitting her dependence on her long-time bagman!

The former World No. 1 played against the content creator in a new episode, titled Nelly Korda vs. Grant Horvat (Stroke Play), on his YouTube channel. During the video, the 1X major champ went ahead to hit a shot from the freeway onto the greens. But, after doing so, she acknowledged the error in her wind calculations as she said, “It’s actually way more downwind than I thought.”

Admitting yourself to being wrong when making a mistake is vital when it comes to being an athlete. But it’s even more so when it comes to asking for the help of others. Fortunately, the 25-year-old did not disappoint, as she swiftly confessed after the oversight, “This is when I need my caddie out here!”

Continuing on, when the YouTuber asked her whether she relied on her caddie for the “yardages,” the golfer was quick to deny it. However, replying to the same, the younger Korda sibling revealed how she asks him a “simple” query every time:“What do you think is playing with the wind?” But was that all? Not even close. Later on in the video, she rectified her own words and admitted once again the need for her looper when Horvat gave her “bad yardages” when the ball came up short on the greens.

McDede would be a very happy person after hearing that. Moreover, with the amount of success he has helped her rake in, even against his own wife, Caroline Masson, Korda admitting her dependence on the looper makes perfect sense.

During the Taiwan Swinging Skirts LPGA presented by CTBC in 2019, the caddie-golfer duo was paired up against Masson, the looper’s then-fiancé and now-wife. Fortunately for Nelly Korda, but unfortunately for the girlfriend, the bagman was extremely professional in his gameplay and helped his athlete win in a playoff hole following a three-way tie between herself, the German, and Minjee Lee.

From zero wins on the LPGA circuit, her partnership with McDede has made all the difference, for the pair have found eight victories together on the LPGA Tour alone. Moreover, Korda was also able to grab the No. 1 spot on the Rolex Rankings, all thanks to the support she received on the greens from her caddie.
