Rose Zhang has fans among players as well

A few golfers this year will play the Solheim Cup for the first time and experience the iconic event. LPGA prodigy is among them, and joining the strong lineup is another excellent golfer, Andrea Lee. She made it to the biennial event at the last minute by showcasing her skills at the CPKC Women’s Open, finishing at T-13. It resulted in her automatic qualification for the coveted battle.

She shares her history with the golf world’s favorite, Rose Zhang. A few hours away from the event in Spain, the reporter asked Andrea Lee how it felt to share Stanford’s history with the one-time LPGA winner and this moment of playing her first Solheim Cup. In response, the youngster sang Zhang’s praises. Yeah, it’s a really special experience to share this with Rose. We didn’t play in college together… but she’s an incredible player, so the fact that she qualified on her own this year is pretty amazing.”

Lee also talked about their cardinal family back home and how awesome their shared heritage was. “It’s really cool to be able to share this week with her. We have great support in our Cardinal family back at Stanford, so it’s pretty awesome to be able to share that.”

This is not the first time a fellow player has appreciated Rose Zhang’s game. She conquered the course in very little time since turning pro, and she has been turning heads since long before then. She’s often been called the female version of Tiger Woods. And Zhang played well enough to even hear from him.

Tiger Woods conveys his wishes to the LPGA prodigy

A month before becoming professional in May, Zhang became the first woman to claim the NCAA Division I golf title. It also marked her 12th victory in 20 starts, breaking the Stanford record previously held by Woods himself.

Right after, in the last week of May, she won her debut event as a professional and left Woods dazzled by her performance. He took to Twitter (X) and praised Rose Zhang for her incredible performance at the NCAA and her debut win as a professional.
