A team requires its members to work together in sync. And, at the Grant Thornton Invitational, it should be especially so since the squad would consist of one male and one female player, from different circuits. However, it seems as if that wouldn’t be a cause of concern for Nelly Korda and her teammate who, apparently, was even able to make the woman golfer blush!

Moreover, the team including Tony Finau was able to prove their synergy as they took to an interview ahead of the event. What’s more, they were even able to manifest their exceptional teamwork before the tournament as the duo managed to put up a witty front all the while revealing the name of their squad – Team FiNelly!

The pair would be looking to clinch the first-ever title of champions for the inaugural edition of the Grant Thornton Invitational. And, in a press conference ahead of the tournament, the golfing duo was able to showcase the kinship they shared. Moreover, the professionals were able to do the same, all the while portraying the respect they have for each other along with their humorous friendship.

In the presser, a query was put forward to the squad as to whether anyone has referred to them as a “team” or if they have a name for the same. Laughing gleefully, Korda was seen pointing to her PGA Tour counterpart after hearing the question. And Finau, putting on his creative hat, responded that their “team name is Team FiNelly.”

Continuing with his answer, the 34-year-old also divulged how their squad is “Certified Fresh,” as per the common standard, “Finau Fresh.” Moreover, he went ahead to point out how his teammate from the LPGA Tour was also “Certified Finau Fresh.” And, the 25-year-old couldn’t hold back her smile as she said, “I was pretty happy,” all the while expressing her joy at getting “certified yesterday” by the golfer.

They sure have a great friendship going on. However, the witty side of their friendship was not the only part that was put on display to see as the 2023 Mexico Open champ had earlier sung praises for the 1X major winner, making her blush no less!

The praise did not fall on deaf ears. The 2021 Women’s PGA Championship winner acknowledged her teammate’s compliment as she responded how he’s “already making me(sic) blush.” Well, it does take a special person to make a talented golfer like Korda blush with their praise. This alone says a lot about the rapport between the teammates. Thus, the fans can look forward to one thing for certain, an exceptional performance from the skillful duo.
