Caddie’s surprising actions leave people bemused at the LPGA event

During the 2023 ShopRite LPGA Classic, many golf enthusiasts were rooting for South Korea’s Jeongeun Lee. After all, it has been several years since the golfer last won an LPGA event, with her first and only win coming at the 2019 U.S. Women’s Open.

However, it was the 27-year-old’s caddie that ended up inadvertently stealing the show at the event. In a video shared by @golfchannel on Instagram, Lee’s caddie, David Buhai, can be seen taking a rather unconventional shortcut to the greens! “That maybe one of the funniest things I have ever seen on the golf course,” the commentator could be heard saying in the funny video.

After the video caught the attention of the golf community, many were quick to react. Some fans even hailed the professional caddie for his actions!

David Buhai’s actions at the ShopRite LPGA Classic were definitely among the highlights of the event, as evidenced by fans’ reactions. “The man is a legend,” commented one fan. “That’s how caddies are born.” “I thought it was someone trying to sneak on at first,” wrote another fan. One golf enthusiast even termed the bagman as “Ace Ventura 2” for his unorthodox ways.

“David couldn’t find the yardage plate….always working hard,” read another comment. “Go David,” said another impressed Instagram user.

While Jeongeun Lee’s run at the LPGA event ended with a disappointing T54 finish, her bagman, David, will have much to be happy about! After all, his wife and major winner Ashleigh Buhai won the coveted title on Sunday. For her heroics, the World No. 16  won the biggest chunk of the $1,750,000 prize purse as she walked away with an incredible $262,500! The victory also marked Buhai’s second-ever win on the LPGA Tour.
