Sunday witnessed something extraordinary when a record was made after 72 years. After Beverly Hanson, Rose Zhang became the second golfer to win her professional debut tournament on the LPGA Tour. It appears that the former amateur golfer is making accomplishing historic feats an everyday habit. First, with two back-to-back NCAA titles just a few weeks ago, and now this!

The significant victory knocked with its fair share of opportunities. Among them, the most enthralling one is the membership of the Ladies Professional Golf Association. The information was shared by the 20-year-old herself while addressing the press. She said, “You guys will see me more on the LPGA Tour as I am taking membership from now on, and I will be playing in 2023.” The same was addressed by the official Instagram handle of the LPGA Tour with the caption, “Hot off the press 🎤

The membership would welcome the sea of chances for the young star to grow as a professional and challenge herself on an international platform. Aside from this, the official acceptance brings with it some other perks. These include:

One such perk is the possibility of playing in the 2023 Solheim Cup. Since the membership replicates an LPGA tour card for the next two years, it also means that Zhang would be able to gather points to participate in the prestigious international event. This will allow her the chance almost every professional seeks, which is to represent Team USA in September this year.

Regarding her performance, Zhang believed the course added some difficulty to the gameplay, especially with the winds in the afternoon. “My swing was a little bit fumbled. But apart from that, I was putting pretty well, and my wedge game has really helped me.” Well! We certainly did see a composed and mature display of skills from Rose Zhang.
