Being pregnant is no joke! But what if you add a sick family member to the mix and see how that goes? Being concerned would be an understatement then. Unfortunately, that is exactly what happened with Michelle Wie West, who is currently pregnant with her second child with her husband, Jonnie West. The ex-pro exuded nothing short of immense worry for her sick pet dog, Rome.

The 34-year-old shared a story on her Instagram handle while sharing her uneasiness with her fans. What did she post, you ask? Well, the female athlete asked her followers what to do regarding her pet dog Cane Corso’s eye condition. “Any advice on getting rid of his cherry eye?” asked West. Needless to say, she soon got an answer from one of her fans.

“Surgery is about the only option, I believe,” replied one of her 608K followers. Call it whatever you want, bad luck or good luck; the fan’s answer turned out to be true. The LPGA Tour veteran herself mentioned in the story how the procedure is inevitable: “We are doing steroid eye drops currently, but it’s not going back in. The vet said surgery is the next step. Poor baby.”

Michelle Wie West being concerned is understandable. Especially since it has been a year since October 2023, the month when the couple and their child welcomed Rome into their family as their third dog. Yes, you read that right. The athlete already had two sheepdogs going by the names of Gatsby and Daisy.

Coming back to Rome. The 2014 U.S. Women’s Open champ had, back in 2023, shared a video on her Instagram handle where she is seen mouthing the lyrics and acting out Olivia Rodrigo’s song, ‘Bad Idea, Right?’ She then spanned the camera to her pet dog while posting the recording with the caption, “Say helllooo to our newest family member, Rome!” That makes him the couple’s fifth addition to the family if you take the soon-to-be-born baby as well.

Or so everyone thought until Michelle Wie West walked in as the guest on the show to promote the Mizuho Americas Open that was teeing off that week. Fallon, to set the tone, asked her if she had anything special to announce. Her reply? “Yeah, we’ve got baby No. 2 coming.” The crowds erupted, and everyone took part in the athlete’s happiness.

West will soon be welcoming her second child, which she had already revealed to be a boy. Her first child, meanwhile, is a daughter named Makenna Kamalei Yoona West, who was born on June 19, 2020. And it seems like she won’t be the only person beside her golfer mother’s side after her baby brother is born. But that is for another time.
