The Club at Carlton Woods is ready for an unparalleled event: the 2024 Chevron Championship. This will be the second time the golf course will host the first major of female golf. The tournament is set to begin on April 18th, and players such as Nelly Korda, Lexi Thompson, Lydia Ko, Lilia Vu, and others will be teeing off to compete for the $5.2 million purse.

The event will start in the serene surroundings of the golf course, which extends to around 7,400 yards and is laced with many other features that widen the eyes all at once. The story of this unique golf course started in 1998 when Jack Nicklaus took on the responsibility of building the best golf course in Texas at Carlton Woods.

Upon getting to know that the Golden Bear would design the course, 50 new members agreed to become members of the Club. The dream turned into reality on June 5th, 2001, and the golf legend played the first ever round. Day one of this course faced a tropical storm named Allison. But it could not stop Jack from playing all 18 holes, as he reached the 18th green, the rain began to pour down.

Later, in 2003, Carlton Woods expanded with its 52,000-square-foot Italianate clubhouse, with a touch of elegance and luxury in its private dining rooms with mixed grill and dining restaurants. It also has men-women and junior locker rooms and a 5,000-square-foot fitness center.

The space also incorporates lakes and parklands, which makes it a bit tricky, long, and demanding as well. The difficulty level of the course is highest on the longest hole on the course, par-4, with a landing fairway bunker at the left, surrounded by two bunkers at the right. The other tough nut to crack is the 455-yard 15th hole, which has a threatening creek that crosses the fairway twice from tee to green.

The Club at Carlton Woods is one of only two private clubs in the US with the Nicklaus/Fazio combination. This is why it is one of the best golf courses, and it has so many accolades to its name.
