Amid Intense Battle at 2023 U.S Women’s Open, Lexi Thompson Achieves an Incredible ‘17’ Feat

For over a decade, LPGA TOUR icon Lexi Thompson has captivated fans around the globe with scintillating golf. Many of those performances have ended up in victories, which has elevated her status alongside the greatest players in the world.

But for all her sparkling talent, Thompson has maintained that level of performance for a long period. As she tees up at the iconic Pebble Beach Golf Links this week, the champion golfer ushers in her unbroken record of US Women’s Open appearances yet again.

Despite her already overwhelming status in the circuit, it’s hard to believe that Thompson is 28 years old. The golfer has been around for long and has racked up more than a few victories during those years.

But surprisingly, Thompson will tee up in her 17th US Women’s Open this week. For those confused, the 28-year-old qualified for the tournament back in 2007, when she was merely 12 years old.

At that time, Thompson became the youngest golfer to appear at the major championship. Though she fell short of the cut, the talented golfer had appeared on the radars of many within the golf community.

Has Thompson won the US Women’s Open in her career?

From the young girl of 12, Thompson qualified for every US Women’s Open since. Three years after making her debut at the tournament, she finished tied for tenth place.

While she was always in the hunt for a victory, after all these years, Thompson hasn’t managed to get her hands on the trophy. She has finished inside the top 10 five times, with her best position as a runner-up at the 2019 edition of the event.
