More than 10 tournaments have been played on the LPGA Tour this season. Yet, American star player Nelly Korda could only attend the first three owing to poor health. Nevertheless, the 2020 Olympic gold medalist is finally ready to make a comeback, sooner than expected.
Not long ago, Korda informed her fans that she had undergone surgery for a blood clot. As per her post, the surgery was successful, and she explained she would take sufficient rest before returning to golf.

Since Korda is one of the popular golfers on the LPGA Tour, her absence affected fans majorly. But coming to their aid with her latest social media post, the golfer announced she is ready to make a comeback at the 2022 U. S. Open.

Nelly Korda couldn’t attend The Chevron Championship, the first major of the LPGA Tour. However, it seems that she isn’t ready to lose another opportunity to claim her second major title. Notably, she won her first major at the 2021 KPMG Women’s PGA Championship.
The U. S. Women’s Open will begin on June 2nd at the Pine Needles Lodge and Golf Club in Southern Pines, North Carolina. And the World No. 2 considers it a perfect event to reclaim her dominance in the world of golf.
Can Jessica or Nelly Korda win the U. S. Open?
Nelly and her elder sister Jessica Korda will take part in the U. S. Women’s Open from June 2nd to 6th. According to the official field list, both the Korda sisters are part of the Pine Needles field.

The closest the youngest of the Korda sisters reached to winning an event this year was at the Hilton Grand Vacations Tournament of Champions. She had secured a tie for the 4th position at the event. But, such is not the case with Jessica Korda.

She was the runner-up at the 2022 Chevron Championship, the first major of the LPGA Tour. She also reached no. 7 on the leaderboard of the same event, where her sister secured a T4.

Although she has been a runner-up in a major event, Jessica Korda has never won it all. Even though Nelly Korda hasn’t taken part in a major tournament this year, she has experience in winning one. Not to mention, she also won the gold medal at the Tokyo Olympics.
