Major golf tournaments always give their fans something more than expected, and just along these lines, the 78th Women’s US Open being hosted at Pebble Beach Golf Links has not disappointed fans. The tournament has brought yet another LPGA golf sensation forward: Allisen Corpuz.

After displaying stunning golfing skills in the first three days at Pebble Beach in California, the golfer talked about her introduction to golf and when she thought golf got real for her. It all happened during her post-round conference, when an interviewer asked her to take them to the beginning of her journey.

She shared that it was her dad who got her into golf pretty early. Corpuz was just four or five years old when her father introduced her to the game. Growing up, she used to play with her older brother; however, she was never too serious about the sport then. “I don’t think I was ever serious… I never thought I would ever be in this position,” she stated. The golfer added that she was more than grateful to be in the position she was in today, though, and that she hopes that the final round goes well for her!

During her post-round media interaction, the 25-year-old shared that it was after her freshman year that she realized that she could make it in the sport.
