World No. 3 Lydia Ko Leaves Reporter Speechless With a Brutally Honest ‘Therapy’ Revelation

Female athletes often go through struggles that their male counterparts do not face. While men and women face a plethora of mental and physical strain alike, to add to that, women also experience a melange of discomfort while performing during the menstruation phase of the menstrual cycle. However, it is rarely that they discuss it publicly. And that is why the interviewer got stunned when the world no. 3 Lydia Ko talked about it during an interview.
“It’s that time of the month,” Ko answered honestly when the male interviewer asked her why she needed therapy during the tournament. “I know the ladies watching,” she couldn’t help but chuckle in between her answer. “… are really like, ‘yeah, I got you.'”

The interview took place after the final round of the 2022 Palos Verdes Championship. The golfer needed to go through therapy while she was playing, which made the interviewer concerned about her health. “So when that happens, I… my back gets really tired, and I’m all twisted,” she added.

Ko went on to explain her need for physiotherapy when she is menstruating. Lydia’s answer made the male interviewer made speechless, which made the golfer laugh.
Since the interviewer could only say a “thank you” in the end, Ko took over. She gracefully ended the interview as she said, “Honesty it is.”

Although she hasn’t won a major this season, the golfer has maintained a good record up until now. Moreover, Ko has also made the top 25 in all the tournaments she has participated in during the 2021-22 season.

Furthermore, the 25-year-old had even won the 2021 Gainbridge LPGA at Boca Rio. With the title, Ko won the prize money of $300,000. Even at the Palos Verdes Championship presented by Bank of America, she secured a tie for the third position.
Ko scored an impressive 8-under par by scoring 69,67,70, and 70 in rounds 1,2,3, and 4, respectively. She earned $89,559 from the tournament itself. Furthermore, the golfer had earned $507,441 so far in the season.
