Golf professionals often receive brand endorsement deals from big companies, courtesy of their immense popularity. As per terms of the contract, players wear the brand’s name or logo on their apparel or have it on their golf bags. However, this week at the US Women’s Open, various famous names like Lydia Ko are doing something along the same lines but with a beautiful twist.

Lydia Ko and others support a great cause at the US Women’s Open
The famous names teeing it up this week at Pine Needles Lodge & Golf Club include Lydia Ko and Lexi Thompson. Apart from putting some good golf on display, the female professionals are supporting a wonderful cause in collaboration with American Express. Ko, Thompson, Stacy Lewis, and other LPGA stars show their support for small businesses by wearing their logos on their apparel. Lydia ended up with High Octane Coffee, a local coffee shop, and kept its logo on her visor.
American Express partnered with six players teeing it up this week, and they are using the logo space that they purchased for local businesses to provide them some publicity. The six athletes are wearing them on their clothes or golf bags at the 2022 US Women’s Open.

She said, “For Amex to do an initiative like this is really cool. Especially for me, to partner with Amex and High Octane, a local business here, it’s truly cool to do that because it feels like there’s a connection: It’s more than us playing golf here, we’re getting familiar with the locals.”
What did Ko shoot in the opening round yesterday?
The young professional made a rather disappointing start to the second major championship event of the year. She carded an opening round of one-over-par, 72. As a result, she enters the round on Friday at an overall score of one over par.
