Fred Ridley, who is the chairman of the Augusta National Golf Club, recently announced Annika Sörenstam as the latest member of the ANGC. The chairman of the club expressed his excitement to have a legend like Sörenstam be a part of their highly valued club. Augusta National Club has been criticized for its lack of female representation in the past. However, they have made attempts in the last decade to undo the exclusionary system and include more women in the club.

Fred Ridley said, “I’ve known Annika for quite some time, and I think she is going to be a great addition to the club. I can tell you, she can still play, and she was just a delight to be with. We have a number of women members and we have for quite a few years. I think it made us a better club, and they are an integral part of our culture.”

Ridley expressed his views upon the admission of Sörenstam to his prestigious forum. He also talked about how Annika would be a great addition to the club. It comes as another landmark in the long legacy that Annika has built in the world of golf at large. This LPGA pro is truly a living inspiration for all of us.
