A man takes a joyride on the golf course

As per WishTV’s recent report, early in the morning on Thursday this week, a deputy from the Vanderburgh County Sheriff’s Office suddenly spotted a man on a dirt bike zooming through the Evansville golf course. The deputy approached the man, a.k.a. Rodney Kessler, and that’s when the trouble began.

Kessler, 36, fled on his bike when he saw the deputy approaching him. The course is at the intersection of Diamond Avenue and U.S. 41, and while fleeing, Kessler attempted to leave the course. There too, deputies found him and tried a traffic stop in order to get a hold of him. But once again, the perpetrator managed to slip through their hands.

Kessler switched off his bike lights and headed back onto the course, hoping to lose the deputies in the dark. But of course, they weren’t ready to give up so easily. They surrounded the area and soon found the dirt bike that the biker had abandoned in an attempt to get away on foot.

What consequences does Kessler face?

It wasn’t long before the 36-year-old was caught. With a drone in the air, and using the sheriff’s office’s K-9 team, the deputies were able to locate Kessler who was hiding in the nearby woods. The police and dogs eventually got a hold of him, and he was rushed to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries that he suffered during his escape attempts.
