Tiger Woods is no longer synonymous with golf. Now, since the golf world has been divided, his name is linked to the PGA Tour and everything it represents. The golf legend has been one of the loudest voices for the Tour in the feud against LIV Golf and Greg Norman. And he recently picked up right where he left off and fired shots at the Breakaway Tour about one of the biggest controversies between the two sides.
Tiger Woods Trashes Greg Norman headed LIV Golf
The 15-time major winner is currently set to compete at the Genesis Invitational, having spent nearly 2 years away from the PGA Tour, excluding the majors. In an interview at the event in LA, he was asked about the direction that the Tour was heading in and his views on it. Well, Woods certainly took the opportunity to dish out blows toward the Saudi-backed side!

The pro stated that he was quite proud of the way the tour was moving forward. “It’s been very positive,” he stated. And then it came—the first subtle sucker punch at the LIV Series. “There are so many different distractions out there now,” claimed the PGA Tour star. Without directly mentioning it, he had dealt a blow at LIV.

He explained that the viewers now had a variety of options, hinting at LIV’s emergence and Norman’s constant promotion of the new league. Because of that, Woods believed that the tour needed to focus on getting the public to pick them. “There are so many different options that you have now,” he added. “So, it’s about us creating the best product so that we have more eyes on it.”

The 82-time PGA Tour winner explained that the Tour was working to grab as much of the viewership as possible. “We have more stars,” he stated, knowing that the tour had many of the fan favorites, including himself, among its ranks. The stars certainly do determine quite a bit as to what the fans watch. After all, all the Norman fans have flocked over to support the LIV side.
He believed that with its competition and players itself; it was en route to becoming the most appealing to the fans. “We need to keep going with it, keep staying aligned, keep progressing, and keep making it better,” he stated with conviction. “And that’s what we’re trying to do.” The golf pro was certain that if they continued down the same path, they would find victory with the audience.
