“I don’t want to change and try to do anything too different,” said 29-year-old Matt Fitzpatrick about his golf equipment when he won the 2023 RBC Heritage Open against Jordan Spieth in the 3rd playoff hole using his 9-irons. Well, keep to the words he said, even after finishing T4 at the Hero World Challenge with a beautiful set of clubs.

Now, a similar set of equipment is helping the Englishman as he aims to top the scoreboard at the event known as ‘The Fifth Major’ of the year at TPC Sawgrass. It truly piques one’s interest in the kind of help he has been receiving on the greens, all thanks to the mix of Titleist and Ping tools he sports on the grounds.

What tools does Matt Fitzpatrick for support on the greens?

The golfer is currently aiming for the top spot at THE PLAYERS Championship and has managed to make the cut into the weekend. Moreover, he would be aiming to increase his number of PGA Tour wins to three, all the while depending on the exemplary choice of equipment to score the lowest figures in the event.

The athlete has been using the Titleist TSi3 driver since 2021 after getting rid of the TaylorMade M2. Interestingly, the tool, which is currently priced at $549, is attached to a Mitsubishi Tensei AV Raw Orange 65 TX shaft at 9 degrees, allowing him a wider stance while covering more distance. The golfer was all praise for the club, as he had once said, “All of a sudden I can drive it up by the green, and that makes a difference.”

The 9-time DP World Tour champ depends on a mix of new and old when it comes to his choice of fairway woods. Fascinatingly, his 3-woods in the bag include the Ping G430 Max, which is lofted at 15 degrees and attached to the Tensei AV Raw Blue 75 TX shaft. Meanwhile, his choice of 7-woods falls on the older Ping G410 lofted down to 19 degrees and coupled with a Graphite Design Tour AD DI 8 X (Black) shaft. The former is currently priced at $349.99, while the latter is marked at around $299.

For his 4-irons, the 2023 RBC Heritage winner turns to the Ping i210, priced at $950.84, which he started using after replacing a Titleist T100, and the Ping S55 for 5-irons down to the pitching wedges. What’s more, all of his irons are coupled with the Ping CFS X (115G) shafts. Interestingly, the latter set of tools has been out since 2015 and has been one of the top choices for the English athlete.

Fitzpatrick’s choice of wedges and putters

When it comes to his wedges, the 2022 U.S. Open champ turns to three of the Titleist Vokey SM9s fitted to the True Temper Dynamic Gold S300 shafts for all of his options, including the 52˚, 56°, and 60° Titleist Vokey WedgeWorks prototype. Besides, the clubs, which are priced at around $149.98, have helped the golfer improve distance and trajectory control of the ball.

Till 2020, the athlete had been using the Yes! Tracy II, but went ahead to replace it with Bettinardi, with whom he signed a contract. Matt Fitzpatrick uses a DASS BB1 Fitz prototype priced at a whopping $2,800. Moreover, it has allowed him to comfortably make the shots around the greens as he guides his Titleist Pro V1x balls while wearing the Skechers Pro 5 Hyper for his shoes.

It looks like the Englishman has prepped up well for the ongoing event at TPC Sawgrass. What do you think of his equipment? Would it be enough to give him his third win on the men’s circuit? Well, one can hope so.
