The banter between the pros has always been interesting to watch, but this time, Max Homa was left in shock. While playing with Grant Horvat, Max Homa got to know that Jon Rahm was taking Horvat’s side to embarrass the 6-time PGA Tour winner. That’s unusual, as Homa has always praised Rahm. In fact, Homa has placed Rahm after Tiger Woods for his consistency. But now, things have changed as the LIV golfer, just before the Ryder Cup, made his intentions clear.

The duo, Horvat and Homa, featured in the video “Can I Beat Max Homa if I start 5 under par?” where Horvat attempted to beat the PGA Tour pro from five under par. But before it began to, Horvat shared the secret message he got from Rahm: “I hope Grant embarrasses him.” It left Homa visibly shocked, as evidenced by the video, where he paused with his mouth open. But soon after that, he realised that he needed to give something back to Rahm.

Homa, due to low connectivity, was saying, “Wish I had service.” As he further texted him, “f you b–ch.” Well, in the past, Homa was left embarrassed when Rahm defeated him during the 2023 Genesis Invitational with a two-stroke difference. Homa finished 15 under, while Rahm was at 17 under. In fact, for that performance, Homa praised the Spaniard, saying, “He is a spectacular golfer. I would say, other than Tiger … he’s the most consistent player I’ve seen.”

Well, the message, even left Horvat motivated, as he shared, “If Rahm’s on my team today, I’ve got to really play golf. No, he doesn’t. I can’t let Rahm down.” However, Homa showcased his exceptional game, which he wasn’t satisfied with, but still recorded nine under and left Horvat at par finish despite a five under start. After winning, Homa jokingly said, “I can’t wait to text Rahm.”

But underlying all the funny interactions and jokes lies Homa’s recent condition: He has been struggling with his form.

Max Homa is battling struggling form

The 6X PGA Tour winner was once the #5, but now, has dropped to 120th place. This year, in his first eight starts, he missed five consecutive cuts. Even though he made a comeback with his T12 finish at the Masters, the story after that finish continued again.

Further in the PGA Tour 2025 schedule, he missed three more cuts, and the best result he achieved was T5 at the John Deere Classic. In fact, that was the only top-5 finish achieved by Homa this season. Even with the form struggle, he defeated Grant Horvat with a score of 9 under, but would definitely not be happy with his performance.
