Why did Spiranac leave gymnastics?

She never felt like she fitted in with other students there. But she kept going because of what her parents told her about winning. The former golfer took their words to her heart and kept pushing herself to the maximum limit. However, this led to the sacrifice of taking pleasure in typical childhood activities.
