Nelly Korda is one of the rising names on the LPGA circuit. The credit for that goes to her outstanding performances after she became a professional in 2016. She began her professional career with Symetra Tour. There she showcased her stellar gameplay and landed the season’s 9th place on the money list, which paved her way to the LPGA Tour in 2017. Since then, she’s been performing as an LPGA Tour pro. She has a total of eight LPGA Tour wins in her bag and had her maiden major victory at the 2021 Women’s PGA Championship. Besides, the LPGA cover girl also secured the gold medal at the women’s individual golf event in the 2020 Summer Olympics, in Japan. 

In terms of her current season’s performance, she had seven top-ten finishes this year. Nelly Korda’s life is mostly like an open book. We already know about her parents, Petr Korda and Regina Rajchrtova, who are former professional tennis players. Yes, the LPGA phenom is with a person who understands her profession. Her boyfriend, Andreas Athanasiou, is a Canada-based Ice-hockey player in the National Hockey League. He previously played for the Detroit Red Wings (an NHL team). In the season 2019-20, Andreas had a record of 10 goals and 14 assists in 46 games with his former team, the Detroit Red Wings. Currently, he plays for his fourth NHL team, the Chicago Blackhawks, after signing a one-year contract with them in 2022. Earlier this year, this contract was extended for two more years.

Now, coming to their personal lives, Nelly is four years younger than her boyfriend. Also, the couple are of different ethnicities. Athanasiou carries the lineage of both Greek and Guyanese descent. Meanwhile, Nelly’s father is based in the Czech Republic, so she probably carries a European bloodline as well.

Andreas Athanasiou has changed his NHL teams four times so far. Currently, he plays for the Chicago Blackhawks. Anthanasiou sealed the $3 million deal with the Chicago Blackhawks in July 2022.
