Since beginning his journey as a coach in England back in 1993, Pugh has maintained a deep connection to sports over the years. In 2010, he made a significant decision to embark on a new chapter by heading east. This led to his participation in the Asian Development Tour for five years. Yet, shortly thereafter, Pugh realized that pursuing a professional playing career was not feasible for him. Consequently, he made the transition to becoming a professional caddie.

In 2014, Pugh started a new life as a professional caddie and eventually became one of the most established on the Tour, with a career spanning over 10 years. Though Pugh is presently renowned for his lighthearted and entertaining relationship with the Australian golfer, his partnerships with players such as Johannes Veerman, Jazz Janewattananond, and Kurt Kitayama stand out as significant highlights in his career.

When did Nick Pugh start caddying for Lucas Herbert?

Like Pugh, Herbert has also had multiple partners throughout his career. One notable example is Craig Connelly, a Scottish caddie who joined forces with Herbert in 2018 on the European Tour, following Herbert’s split with Martin Kaymer. Shortly after parting ways with Connelly, Nick Pugh joined Herbert in 2019, marking the beginning of their partnership.

However, not long after, Pugh and Herbert had to part ways at the 2019 ISPS Handa Vic Open due to Pugh providing incorrect yardage to Herbert. But fate intervened to reunite the duo in 2020, as Pugh returned to take charge of Herbert’s bag, cementing a strong bond between them that has endured to this day. Despite being a regular presence on the greens with the LIV golfers, Pugh has not limited his life solely to the golf course.
