Reece Philips, who hails from England, started his golf career in 2014. He was fascinated by the complexities of golf at the very young age of twelve. Further, he started as a golf coach in 2017 and grew up to be a golf caddie. Philip, a boyfriend, coach, and caddy to the golf sensation Esther Henseleit, tried his luck on the course as a player as well before taking the coaching route.

He was also a part of the men’s European Tour and carried the bag for Oliver Fisher, who was also his good friend. He then met his sweetheart at a tournament at the end of 2020. The couple moved to Arizona in 2022, which led him to be Henseleit’s full-time caddie and win their first title together in Kenya. But was this caddy-player relationship formed before or after they became a couple?

As a friend to the LPGA Tour player and a coach himself, Reece Philips used to talk about all things golf. They both used to watch and discuss golf swing videos and from there, a love story emerged naturally. As a caddy, he can be around Henseleit without any restrictions and can also easily monitor her game closely.

Together, they worked hard on the LPGA Tour pro’s game mechanics to eliminate the errors, practicing especially the higher and softer shots for difficult golf courses. “Esther’s strengths lie in her ability to control her distance, her personality, and her work ethic. She controls herself greatly and impresses me every day!” said Philips.

The couple also spends most of their time together and shares many common interests, which makes them perfect for each other. According to the looper, “We both enjoy finding cool cafes, people watching, taking long walks, and reading good books.” He further added that golf is not the only thing Henseleit is good at; she is a fine cook and, even better, a baker too! Apart from their golf tours, they also like to take vacation trips together and go to places like Northern Arizona and Yosemite National Park, as per Philips’s Instagram account.

Interestingly, the on- and off-course partners manage to take some time for post-round hanging out as well. From starting with a chat about golf to winning a trophy together, this personal-professional relationship has come a long way since 2021, when they first joined hands together. Henseleit recently finished in 7th place in the Chevrolet championship, and it looks like they have a bright future ahead, both inside and outside the ropes. However, the looper’s solo side is equally interesting!

Philips was 12 years old when he first went on a golf course in London and ended up being addicted to the sport. He likes to work with top golf players, watch and learn from the sport’s professionals, and also says, “I liked the fact that the sport is largely individual, and therefore you have to work hard yourself and try to improve,” he said.

At the top of it all, he enjoys his work as a caddy and likes to see his friends and colleagues doing well. “Being around the best players in the world week in, week out. Watching them push the boundaries to what is achievable under high pressure and being part of that performance process. Seeing firsthand what goes into that process on a human level is really cool,” said the pro’s partner.

Additionally, Atlanta Athletic Club for KPMG is his favorite course and tournament on the LPGA Tour. More information on his personal life and earnings is not publicly available, but as it could be seen, both parts of his life are going hand in hand together! Esther Henseleit’s has not had a hole-in-one so far, and the couple is looking forward to changing it soon!
