Scottie Scheffler has always credited his family for his accomplishments, and looking at the upbringing he has had, we understand why. His parents, Scott and Diane Scheffler, are the ultimate power couple of parental support. Scott, a stay-at-home dad, was the chauffeur, golf-practice-scheduler, and biggest fan all rolled into one. He introduced Scheffler to golf with a set of plastic clubs, and the rest, as they say, is history.
Scheffler’s love for golf became an “obsession” after that, and his parents were right there to nurture it. Diane, an executive at a law firm, worked hard to support the family financially, while Scott took care of the kids. As the golfer fondly recalled, “I was fortunate to grow up in a home with two parents that loved all of us very dearly, and my mom was the one who was working and supporting our family financially, which I would say is a little bit different.”
Scott and Diane’s dedication to Scheffler’s golf career is something to be admired. Scott would often shuttle the PGA Tour pro to golf practice and tournaments, cheering him on every step of the way. And the golfer’s gratitude for his parents’ hard work is evident when he says, “I couldn’t speak highly enough of the hard work that my parents invested into my career through the years.” And this respect is a shared feeling.

Scott beams with pride, saying, “I used to wonder, ‘Can Scottie really be that good at his craft, at the game of golf?’ And he is. He truly has been given a gift, and he uses it… It does surprise me… He’s my child. He’s my son. Sometimes you just say to yourself, ‘Wow.'” This parental support has likely played a significant role in shaping Scottie’s calm and collected demeanor, a trait that’s served him well both on and off the course.

As Scott notes, “When something happens, he’s always been the one who says, ‘Everybody calm down.’ He’s just kind of calm.” This calmness is likely a necessity in the Scheffler household, which was filled with the lively energy of four kids – Callie, born in 1994, Scottie in 1996, and younger sisters Molly and Sara. Callie, being the classic first child, took her big-sister role seriously, even caddying for Scottie in junior tournaments, showcasing the close bond between the siblings. And if you think Scheffler had a big family after reading that, boy do we have a surprise for you!
