The Air Jordan 4 Black Cat makes an appearance at the PGA Tour Champions event. The American professional golfer Rocco Mediate wore the same at the 2022 TimberTech Championship, which is being held at the Royal Palm Yacht and Country Club in Florida. 

“These shoes are dumb, man. The shoes are dumb,” Mediate said as he excitedly wore the shoes. “I’m faster, my vertical.. my vertical leap is probably 4-6 inches now,” the 13-time champion said. 

Interestingly, the 59-year-old looked like a kid when he got the shoes. “They’re silly… like a unicorn,” he added. “They are like a unicorn of golf shoes.” Notably, Mediate tried the Jordan 4 Black Cat during the second round of a golf tournament. However, he explained that he didn’t want to repeat the mistake. 

“They’ll debut someday… one of these Sundays,” he said. “You can’t wear these like on a Friday, right? They’ve got to be Sunday shoes.” Although it was merely a 30-second video, viewers can see how the 1999 Phoenix Open champion enjoyed his time to the fullest.

Air Jordan 4 Black Cat is one of the newest additions to the Micheal Jordan-Nike collection. Notably, the shoe collection is named after one of the nicknames of the former Chicago Bulls shooting guard, ‘Black Cat.’

The shoe has maintained its OG features, including hard-shell molds holding down the lace stay and breathable netting on the vamp. However, the monochromatic silhouette of nubuck leather and graphite matte finishes keeps them different from any of its former models.

 

One can spot the iconic Jumpman logo twice on the shoes. The tongue of the ‘Black Cat’ has a graphite-on-black logo. Meanwhile, the heel of the shoe sports a glossy blackout Jumpman logo. Notably, the official site of Nike shows that the said pair has been sold out. 

Reportedly, Nike SB will collaborate with MJ one more time to release a special edition of the pair. Nike is likely to release them in March 2023. And the video from PGA Tour Champion golfer Mediate might be a part of one of their campaigns for the same.
